Cat diarrhea and throwing up: What to do?
Diarrhea and vomit is a very common case for the cats. If you are owner of an indoor cat, specially if it is an expensive breed, like Pertain, Calico or others, then you may have a frequent encounter with these types of problems. However, some preventive measure can help you avoid this situation. In this article, we will discuss the treatment and prevention of cat vomit and diarrhea.
Treatment:
01. If your cat faces any kind of disease, rush to the vet. The sooner you get, the safer your cat will be. If that’s not possible for you, follow these steps as primary treatment;
02. In the event of diarrhea or/and vomit, cats usually stops eating. According to vets, if your cat stops eating during diarrhea or vomit, then let it be. Do not force feed anything until 24 hours, except water. If your cat is not eager to drink, force it to drink. Take a syringe, take some water in it. If your cat refuses to open its mouth, take a narrow syringe. Push it softly at the corner of its mouth. If you do so, it will open the mouth. Take your syringe near to its throat through the mouth and release the water inside. Feed a glass of water within 3 hours interval. Remove the needle of the syringe before use.
03. If the situation does not improve, start force feeding it. Boil some chicken for a long time, without salt, spice, onion or anything. Take out the chicken, and keep boiling the water, until the water becomes brown solution. Take it to a syringe and feed it the same way as described in step 1. Do not wrestle with your cat, instead, talk to it, pat it gently. That will make your job much easier.
04. You can blend the chicken and make it a paste and mix it with chicken stock. If you cannot put the blended chicken paste inside the syringe, take out the syringe piston and insert the food from the

05. Now the topic I am going to discuss might seem a bit unorthodox, but it works. Feed your cat green grass. Grass juices are very helpful for their digestive system. Do not force feed, just put in front of them. They will do the rest. Here is a video of cat eating grass.
06. De-worm your cat from a vet.
07. You should see improvement within 3-4 days. If not, rush to your vet.
The following video shows the force feeding process of a cat.
Prevention:
01.Never give cow milk to your cat. Some people feed dilute cow milk, which is not encouraged also. If your cat is less than three months, feed them Lactogen 1. For details on kitten food, click here;
02. Keep an eye on your cat so that they do not end up eating cockroaches. Rat or mouse died due to poison is also highly dangerous.
03. De-warm your cat within an interval of three months.
04. Don’t bring any sudden change to the diet. Specially if you feed the cat dry food and require a diet change, change by mixing it up with old food.
05. Do not feed any spices, onion, garlic or salt.
At the end.....
Stray cat seems to eat all kind of food, rice, fish, meat, bones, milk and so forth, anything you through at them, they take it in their mouth and pass it to their tummy in no time. Well, things are not same for indoor cats. Most of the new born stray kittens end up being dead at an early age. Some in diarrhea, some in flue, some dies starving, some gets hit by a car, some killed buy dogs or other big cats. If you have a closer look at your neighborhood, you will understand that the total number of cats rarely increases, unlike dogs. Those who survive all these challenges and hardship and manage to live, grow up to become a strong, healthy and capable cat. They can eat and digest anything that goes to their tummy. But the situation is quite different for indoor rescued cats, specially those which are expensive breeds, e.g. Persian, Siamese, Calico etc. These cats are very prone to diarrhea, food-poisoning, stomach upset and other food related diseases.
