I have experience of petting six cats in total. All these eventually got adopted now and then. Getting bitten by a cat is inevitable if you are a cat owner. Cats are playful and biting is a way to show their love. Cat bite is not much dangerous as it seems. If you follow few steps, everything should go on just fine.
01.Wash your hands with soap: Once you get bitten by a cat, your first job is to wash your hand with soap and running water. Soap will instantly minimize the risk of infection, rabis and all other danger. Afterwars, wash your hands with Savlon, Detol, Nebanol Powder of After shave.
02. Watch out for infection: If you follow step 1, you have already reduced the chance of an infection at a significant rate. Still, if you notice that the bitten area is swallowing incredibly or puss is coming out, rush to the doctor and start prescribed antibiotic.
03. If your area is Rabies Prone: Now, let’s talk about rabies. Most of the courtiers in the world is trying to extinct the rabies virus. So, if you are at a rabies free country, you need not to worry about rabies if you get bitten. But, if your country is a rabies prone area, take rabies vaccine within 24 hours. If the vaccine is taken correctly, it will sustain for more than 10 years depending on your health condition. Ask the doctor about the expiry of your vaccination.
04. Vaccinate all your pets: If your pets are not vaccinated, you have to take rabies vaccine whether they bite or not.
Hopefully the blog will help you a lot. Best regards.
